SRI AMBIKA TIMBER DEPOT – The Firm was established
in the year of 1984, having its Head office at Chromepet, Chennai
and now we have our branches at Tuticorin, Shencottah. Bangalore,
and Mangalore.
The Firm is headed by Mr. Manji Narayan Patel who is having around
45 years of experience in the timber, timber trading and saw mill
operations. Our main activity was to procure timber from Kerala
Forest Department, Assam, Madhya Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar
Islands, and cut them into sizes and supply to all over Tamilnadu
and other parts of India. We were operating that time as “Sri Ambika
Saw Mill”.
From the year 1985, after the Imports were allowed, SRI AMBIKA
TIMBER DEPOT started importing timber from Malaysia, Myanmar, PNG,
Indonesia, Gabon, Ghana, Guyana, Ivory Coast and other African and
Latin American countries and being supplied to TRADERS in Tamilnadu,
Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka etc.
We have exported Sawn Consignment to Kuwait as a trial order and
also to China and we are expecting future business in export. In
order to study about the global market and to market our products
like sawn timber, mouldings, furniture components etc. we have been
participating in various trade fairs (both national and
international).
The annual turnover of the company is around Rs.15.00 Crores The
company has equipments to produce 700 Cft. a day/ 2,17,000 Cft in a
year. (i.e. 6,000 CBM).
Recently we have started producing Door and Window frames from our
factory situated at Shencottah, Tamilnadu, as per the standard
specifications and also customized made-to-order specification.
In India we have been focusing and catering to the needs of whole
sale and retail traders. In order to increase our market share in
retail segment, we are reaching now directly to all well established
Companies / Builders / Contractors to supply our good quality timber
and timber Products. Since the cost of processing and manufacturing
is low with us, we shall able to offer very competitive prices for
our Timber and Timber Products.
